RRR Movie Review: This historical fictional narrative captures your attention with its visually power-packed masala story telling and you’ll end up craving for more

Amid many films that missed out on the imperative effects of emotionally satisfying storytelling in an attempt to present the jaw-dropping efforts of cinematography and grand visuals, RRR (Roudhram Ranam Rudhiram) stood out.

The director of this film Rajamouli is a known specialist for wondrously bringing out that emotional vigour and energy among his audiences while watching the film. He elegantly uses the visually breath-taking scenes to define the emotions driving the plot and this establishes a strong rhythm for the basic storyline. In addition to his captivating direction, having NTR and Ram Charan as the side-by-side protagonists in this movie made us expect the unexpected and still be awestruck watching their performance.

On coming to the storyline, it starts in Delhi, 1926. It is a fictional tale of two freedom fighters, Alluri Sitaramaraju and Komaram Bheem, who weren’t known to each other in real-time history. But the writing legend V. Vijayendra Prasad not only presented us with the imaginative companionship of these two warriors but also showed us the power of united spirit between them. These two roles, Ramaraju (Ram Charan) and Bheem (Jr. NTR) represent the attributes of mighty fire and water fighting for their hidden agendas cross paths accidentally to save a boy who was stuck in a river on fire. The movie then threw on us the eye-pleasing bromance of these two which seems pretty natural. Their bond is built on bravery, and loyalty and they were both willing to sacrifice their life for each other.

Rama Raju is a cop working under the British. He desires a special promotion for his hidden revolt against the British and was tasked to hunt down the tribal warrior Bheem to get it while Bheem is busy plotting a hatch to rescue the tribal kid “Malli” who was taken by the evil wife of the British governor Scott as her singing doll. Bheem hides his true intentions as a part of the plan and the real story begins when the truth is unearthed. Will they both be able to save their friendship and rescue Malli? How the companionship maintains its bond amid the challenges? You have to watch the film.

Coming to the female lead, Alia Bhatt is not presented with enough scenes to prove her potency as an actor. However, the final song has got her attention from the audience. And Jennifer’s character as the lead role beside Bheem is shown as kind, innocent, and artistic. The backstory of Ramaraju’s past unfolding seems strained and even the storyline is not deep. However, Rajamouli’s direction can compensate for the loopholes of the story with his emotionally engaging screenplay, and both the actors gave their best for this film. The VFX effects are also commendable and Senthil’s BGM is splendid. So, if you want to see the action-packed masala drama, you should watch this movie in theatres.
